Lab Shower
Today was a busy day for me and Layden and a rough one for Oli. Layden and I had the shower with Oli's coworkers at 3:00. They gave us many nice things including cute outfits for when he is bigger, a mobile that can be used in the car and a really annoying noise maker toy. It is key chain that electronically makes key clinking sounds when ever it is moved the tiniest bit... maybe I can figure out how to remoeve the batteries. Laysen was very well behaved for the shower and the (very boring) lab meeting that followed, he most slept but woke up for a short while at the end. Then this evening we visited the doctor and he had his frenulum trimmed. He didn't seem to mind that part of it but was pretty pissed about the doctor holding his mouth open and the nurse holding his arms. So far it seems like he may be nursing better, hopefully that trend will continue.
Last night the hematology instrument went down. This means that all the differential blood cell counts had to be done by hand. So Oli had to call Karen and have her come in and he also didn't make it home until 9:00 and didn't get to sleep until around 10:00-10:30. He also went to lab meeting and shower so he had to get up again around 2:00 so he didn't get much sleep. He took a nap after the lab meeting but that was also only a couple hours. Well if tonight goes well maybe Layden and I will take our final nap out in the living room so daddy can get a good night/morning/day's sleep.
Dieter started classes today and it looks like Mon/Wed/Fri will be long days for him. Since it turns out we get half of the garage he has a small gym set up there. The neighbors even left a dart board behind. He is enjoying having Layden around, especially now that he is awake more. He sleeps through any crying in the night, lucky guy. His car goes into the shop for a good bit of work tomorrow, new plugs, new wires and alignment. I also think some part involved with the alignmnet needs to be replaced. He figures that is a result of drive up onto side walks to deliver papers last semester.
I think I am starting to adjust to a bit less sleep. Waking up in the middle of the night is still harsh and it some times takes me a bit to figure out exactly why I am awake.
